About the Friends of the Brain Institute
Welcome to the Friends of the Brain Institute (FBI). Our team is an enthusiastic community group dedicated to supporting the New Zealand Brain Research Institute and the work they do to understand the neurological illnesses that affect so many of us. The doctors and scientists at the Institute are making important and exciting advances in their research into conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease to name but a few. Our Friends group is delighted to be able to assist the NZBRI in any way we can. Perhaps you can help too? We have a fabulous variety of fundraisers including our famous annual FBI Golf Tournament each November. Come along, you’ll have a wonderful time and we’d love to see you. To quote Stella McCartney: “Everyone can do simple things to make a difference, and every little bit really does count”.
- Kathryn Mulcock, Chairman, Friends of the Brain Institute
What we do
"Our job is to increase the understanding of how the brain works and how it breaks down in neurological diseases. Only from there can we can work towards treatments.
- Dr Michael MacAskill, Research Director, New Zealand Brain Research Institute
The Friends of the Brain Institute have a low-volume email list where we let people know about upcoming public talks and events related to neurological disorders and brain research in the Canterbury area. If you would like to receive these notices please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
